The sunflower continuously is expressed in art and so many times has won over my heart. I never tire of them. As a consequence, I have expressed sunflowers in many ways, and will give some examples today of wearable art, paintings, and photographs.
Wearable Art - This is a silk-lined sheath using vivid fabrics that were cut into shapes, formed into sunflower collages and then were sewn onto the dress. Threads meander around the dress as well. Original design.
Painting - Unconventional in color story, this large sunflower is an acrylic painting on canvas.
Painting - Quirky is the way to describe this painting, which, by the way, is one of my favorites. With a vase of sunflowers on a dresser, which obviously has a leg and foot in a high heel shoe. An odd-faced vase sits above a pear. Acrylic on canvas board.
Painting - One in a series of pieces that are 36" x 24" -- Sunflowers on a celery-colored ground.
Photography - Fields of Sunflowers from this photo shoot. At the time, I lived minutes from these blooming beauties.
The question remains, what is it about sunflowers? Suffice it to say, no matter the art form they take, or whether they are in fields, or in a vase in my home, I am happy when I look at them.
